Important Information About Commercial & Business Finance

This page explains FinanceFlow's role as an Australian credit intermediary platform, how commercial and business-purpose enquiries may be introduced to independent finance professionals, and what businesses should consider before proceeding.

Commercial scope

Commercial and Business-Purpose Funding Introductions

FinanceFlow provides commercial and business-purpose funding introductions only. We do not offer consumer credit, personal loans, or any form of credit assistance regulated under the National Consumer Credit Protection Act 2009.

This information relates solely to commercial credit and business lending activities.

FinanceFlow does not provide funds, issue facilities, make approval decisions, set pricing, set security conditions or determine settlement terms. Any assessment, advice, recommendation, approval, pricing, fees, terms and settlement are the responsibility of the relevant independent finance professional and/or credit provider.

FinanceFlow's role

Understand the Role Before You Proceed

FinanceFlow is an Australian credit intermediary platform. We help businesses organise an initial commercial finance enquiry and may connect suitable enquiries with independent finance professionals whose capabilities appear relevant to the stated business purpose.

FIND → MATCH → CONNECT

FINDTell us what the business is trying to achieve, the funding amount and the commercial purpose.
MATCHWe consider which category of finance expertise or commercial pathway may be relevant to the enquiry.
CONNECTWhere appropriate, we facilitate an introduction to an independent finance professional for further assessment and discussion.
Important distinction

FinanceFlow does not make the finance decision.

The independent finance professional and/or credit provider determines whether a facility is available and, if so, the applicable structure, price, security, documentation and conditions.

Business-purpose funding

Commercial Funding Purposes Can Vary

Depending on the business and the relevant provider, commercial finance may be explored for purposes such as:

Operations & cash flow

Working capital, inventory, supplier payments, payroll timing and other operating requirements.

Growth & investment

Business expansion, acquisitions, refurbishment, technology, marketing and other commercial initiatives.

Assets & commercial property

Equipment, machinery, business vehicles, commercial property and property-secured business purposes where appropriate.

Restructuring & specialist situations

Commercial facility restructuring, tax obligations where permitted, transaction funding and other specialist business requirements.

Availability depends on the business circumstances and the criteria of the independent finance professional and/or credit provider.

Assessment information

Information an Independent Finance Professional May Consider

The information considered will vary by provider and transaction. Common commercial factors can include:

Business profile

  • Commercial purpose
  • Funding amount
  • Trading history
  • Industry and business structure
  • ABN / ACN and identification information

Financial position

  • Turnover and cash flow
  • Existing commercial liabilities
  • Available financial information
  • Repayment capacity
  • Transaction-specific information

Security & structure

  • Business or property assets available as security
  • Guarantees where applicable
  • Facility term and repayment structure
  • Timing requirement

Provider criteria

  • Provider appetite
  • Documentation requested
  • Valuation requirements
  • Internal commercial credit policy
  • Conditions before settlement

FinanceFlow does not determine these criteria and does not represent that a particular commercial facility will be available.

Funding amounts

Who FinanceFlow Is Designed to Assist

FinanceFlow primarily assists Australian commercial and business-purpose funding enquiries. Our main enquiry pathway is designed around funding requirements from approximately $50,000, while larger or more complex commercial requirements may also be considered by relevant finance professionals.

The $50,000 figure is an enquiry-positioning threshold used by FinanceFlow. It is not an approval threshold, provider commitment or representation that a particular facility will be available.

Whole-facility view

Consider the Whole Commercial Facility — Not Just One Number

A commercial finance commitment can affect business cash flow and assets. Before proceeding, consider the complete structure presented by the relevant finance professional or credit provider.

Pricing & cost

Interest, establishment charges, ongoing fees, professional fees, valuation expenses and legal costs where applicable.

Repayment structure

Repayment frequency, interest-only periods, residual or balloon obligations and the overall cash commitment.

Flexibility

Early repayment conditions, additional payments, refinancing provisions and other facility restrictions.

Security

Property or other assets offered as security, guarantees and the consequences if obligations are not met.

Term

Facility duration, maturity obligations and any refinance or lump-sum requirement.

Business impact

Whether the proposed payment profile aligns with business cash flow, seasonality and the stated commercial objective.

BEFORE YOU PROCEED

Review the complete commercial facility and the provider's documents.

Consider structure, cost, security, obligations and timing together.

Repayment planning

Indicative Repayment Modelling Is a Starting Point

Repayment estimates can help a business model how funding amount, rate, term and structure may affect cash flow. An estimate is not a quote, approval, provider assessment or prediction of the terms that may ultimately be offered.

Fees & security

Fees, Security and Guarantees Can Vary

Fees and costs

FinanceFlow does not charge a fee simply to submit an initial website enquiry. An independent finance professional, credit provider or other party involved in a transaction may charge fees for its own services. Applicable charges should be disclosed by that party before you proceed.

Security and guarantees

Some commercial facilities may require property, business assets or other acceptable security. Directors or other parties may also be asked to provide guarantees. Review the provider's documents and understand the obligations before proceeding.

Timing

Commercial Finance Timeframes Vary

Assessment and settlement timeframes vary according to the transaction, supporting information, security, valuations, documentation and provider process. FinanceFlow may assist with directing an enquiry, but does not control or guarantee approval or settlement timeframes.

Initial assessment, documentation and settlement are separate stages.

Decision checklist

Questions to Consider Before Accepting a Commercial Facility

  • What is the overall amount payable?
  • What fees and charges apply?
  • How is the rate structured?
  • What security or guarantees are required?
  • What happens if the facility is repaid early?
  • Is there a residual or balloon obligation?
  • What happens at the end of any interest-only period?
  • What happens if the business misses a repayment?
  • Are there ongoing charges?
  • What happens at maturity?
  • What conditions remain before settlement?
  • Which independent finance professional or credit provider is responsible for the proposed facility?

If you are uncertain about legal, tax, accounting or financial consequences, consider obtaining appropriate independent professional advice before committing.
